A letter from our founder

Dear parent,

I taught kindergarten for eleven years before my daughter was born. When it was her turn for playschool, I visited fourteen schools — and walked out of each one with the same knot in my stomach. Too many rules, too little laughter, and nobody could tell me what my child would actually do all morning.

So we started Growing Steps in our own living room, with borrowed toys and eleven brave families. The belief was simple: children this small don't need a syllabus — they need warm laps, washed hands, and time to play. Everything they must learn at this age hides inside play, and a good teacher knows how to find it.

Fourteen years and 150 centres later, we still run every centre the way I wished those fourteen schools were run. Come see for yourself — the chai is on us.
